ASICS was launching their e-commerce website in New Zealand and wanted to reinvigorate their email list with an injection of fresh subscribers.
ASICS also wanted to invite existing subscribers to update their information and subscribe to hear from partnered brands, like Timberland, Bridgestone, Onitsuka Tiger, and Wilson.
Our team set out to review and optimise ASICS’ existing MailChimp platform to help them prepare for growth. As part of this project we designed and developed a new email template, and ran a list growth campaign. This involved building a custom microsite where customers updated their profile details, opted-in to subscribe to hear from partnered brands and referred their friends for an additional incentive, using a unique URL.
We used targeted Facebook Ad placements to drive traffic to the microsite, and implemented a welcome and on-boarding program to drive activation of new prospects and ensure their customers received relevant, compelling messages immediately following subscription.
This project was very successful in acquiring new prospective customers, and obtaining opt-in permission for ASICS’ partner brands. We were able to grow ASICS’ email list by 20% in only one month.
Nearly 60% of the 10,511 entries received were from existing subscribers who updated their details. This new data enabled ASICS' marketing team to engage in more advanced segmentation, improving their targeting and content relevance.
